Volunteer!

There are several ways to get involved:

Adopt-a-Highway

Date/Time: Monday, June 2 @ 7:00 p.m.

The club has adopted 1.8 miles of route 1694 in Oldham County. This road is part of the Ironman Louisville course, and is well-used by many of the local cyclists and triathletes. The club is responsible for trash pickup on this section of road 4 times per year.

Persons interested in volunteering can contact Mike Shadoan at mtshadoan@aol.com.

SUNDAY MORNING RUN FOR COFFEE (or Hot Chocolate for all your crazy non-coffee drinkers out there!)

IT'S OFFICIAL... You never have to do your long run alone again! (unless, of course, you want too!)

PLEASE join the Landsharks EVERY Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. for a long run in and around the Cherokee Park area! All levels are welcome. Distance and pace will vary according to group.

Where to meet: Heine Bro's Coffee at corner of Bardstown Road and Eastern Parkway.
Time to meet: Run will leave at 8:30 a.m. so be there a few minutes before.
Distance: The group may break up into smaller groups depending on how fast and far people want to go.

Fear not, no one will run alone! Your trusty run cap-i-tan will make sure of that! Contact: Laura Fogt laura.fogt@louisville.edu

Effective May 1st I will be stepping down as President of the club.  Kris Frazier will be stepping in to take over through the remainder of 2008.  I have enjoyed the last year and really feel like the club has grown with the support of the committee.  There will be plenty of opportunities for members to volunteer and be active this year.  Kris and the committee will need any and all support that you can provide.  We will be supporting EP Tom Sawyer, Buckner and Ford Ironman Louisville this year.  I look forward to seeing you out on the roads.  Have a great 2008 racing season!

Mike Kresge
