The Greater Louisville Association of Diabetes Educators (GLADE) is a multi-disciplinary chapter of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE), whose mission is dedicated to advancing the role of the diabetes educator and improving the quality of diabetes education and care.
Purpose
- To provide educational opportunities for the professional growth and development of diabetes educators in Louisville, surrounding Kentucky counties and southern Indiana.
- To promote and aid the growth and development of quality diabetes education for the person with diabetes.
- To foster communication and cooperation among individuals and organizations involved in diabetes education and care.
In 1984, The Greater Louisville Association of Diabetes Educators (GLADE) became a chapter of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE). In recognition of these combined and continuing efforts, in 1988 GLADE was awarded the AADE Chapter of the Year Award.
